If you live out-of-zone

The KPS board invites out-of-zone applications from parents or caregivers who wish to enrol their children at Kauri Park School.

The board invites applications from parents who wish to enrol their children at Kauri Park School for the 2024 school year. Enrolment at the school is governed by an enrolment scheme, details of which are available below.

Applications for an out-of-zone enrolment can be made by clicking on the link below.  The deadline for receipt of applications for out-of-zone places is  Wednesday 11th October 2023.

Parents of students who live within the home zone should also apply by this date to assist the school to plan appropriately for next year. The board has determined that out-of-zone places will be available for years 0-2. Across these year levels there will be a total of  30 places. If the number of out-of-zone applications exceeds the number of places available, students will be selected by ballot. If a ballot is required it will be held on 18th October 2023.

Parents will be informed of the outcome of the ballot within three school days of the ballot being held.

KPS Enrolment Scheme:

Applications for out-of-zone enrolment will be processed in the following order of priority, however we are currently accepting no new out-of-zone enrolments with the exception of our second priority:

First Priority This priority is not applicable as the school does not run a special programme approved by the Secretary for Education

Second Priority will be given to applicants who are siblings of current students

Third Priority will be given to applicants who are siblings of former students

Fourth Priority will be given to any applicant who is a child of a former student of the school

Fifth Priority will be given to applicants who are children of board employees

Sixth Priority will be given to all other applicants

If there are more applicants in the second, third, fourth or fifth priority groups than there are places available, selection within the priority group will be by a ballot conducted in accordance with the instructions by the Secretary under Section 11G(1) of the Education Act 1989. Parents will be informed of the date of any ballot by notice in a daily or community newspaper circulating in the area served by the school.
