Week commencing 11th September:
Quiz night: Well done to The Friends of Kauri Park School for running another fantastic Quiz Night. A great time was had by all.
Important information about the Cultural Show: Our students will be displaying their talents at our Cultural Performance on Wednesday 20th September. We have approximately 170 students involved in 10 different dance, singing, acting, musical and cultural groups.
There will be two performances. These will both be on Wednesday 20th September. One performance will be the matinee at 1.00pm and we are encouraging parents with pre-schoolers to attend this show. Older relatives may also prefer to attend the matinee as there will be some seating at this show. The other show is the evening performance at 7pm, which will be floor seating mostly and attendees will need to bring their own cushions (no chairs to be brought in). The evening performance is not for pre-schoolers or school age students. All Kauri Park students will see the performance at the dress rehearsal.
If your child is performing, you will be given 2 tickets to attend the evening performance. These will be named and sent home with your child on Monday 18 September. People holding these tickets will be given first entry to the evening performance. Tickets can be exchanged for a gold coin donation upon entry. If you know that you will only be using one ticket please send the other one back to the office as we can then offer it back out to others. There may be room for others to attend but we are not guaranteeing seating. The office is not selling tickets.
The matinee performance is not ticketed. Doors will open at 12.45pm, gold coin donation to enter, first in, first served. No pre-sales or saved seating.
As you can appreciate, we are trying to ensure that all parents get an opportunity to see their child perform while still ensuring the safety of all attendees by not over-crowding our school hall. Based on attendance at the Cultural Shows held in 2015, we feel confident that 2 performances will allow all families to see their child on stage.
More information about what time your child needs to be at school, costume requirements, will follow this week.
Softball Success: Congratulations are well deserved for our softball team who won the overall final at Rosedale Park yesterday. They had a clean sweep, winning games against Manuka, Silverdale & Murrays Bay. Thanks to Mrs. Ashby for preparing and training the team and the following parents for coaching on the day-Corrie Jamieson, Rachel Norton & Teresa Moir.
Cross-country: The Inter school Competition will be held at our school on Friday 22nd September.
Highlights of our own school cross-country event can be viewed HERE
Spare Clothing: Now that our grassed areas are saturated it would be helpful if your children could carry a spare pair of shorts and tee shirt in their bag in case of an emergency.
Radio KPS is now broadcasting: Our school radio station is up and running. As well as playing a mixture of new and popular music it provides an authentic audience for students’ work - their friends, family, and wider community!
